Technology Development Status of New Energy Vehicles in China

Author:

China began to implement the new energy vehicle science and technology plan during the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" period. During the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" and "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, China has invested 2.04 billion yuan in scientific research funds to implement the "863 Five-Year Plan" plan, major scientific and technological projects for electric vehicles, energy conservation and New energy vehicle major projects; in the past 10 years, more than 500 related topics have been established to continue to encourage independent research and development of electric vehicles and other energy conservation, the formation of pure electric vehicles, oil-electric hybrid, fuel cell three technical routes for the "three vertical".

China began to implement the new energy vehicle science and technology plan during the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" period. During the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" and "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, China has invested 2.04 billion yuan in scientific research funds to implement the "863 Five-Year Plan" plan, major scientific and technological projects for electric vehicles, energy conservation and New energy vehicle major projects; in the past 10 years, more than 500 related topics have been established to continue to encourage independent research and development of electric vehicles and other energy conservation, the three technical routes of pure electric vehicle, hybrid electric power and fuel cell have been formed as the "three vertical", and the three common technologies of multi-energy powertrain control system, drive motor and its control system, power battery and its management system are the "three horizontal" electric vehicle research and development pattern. After two five-year plans to tackle key scientific and technological problems, China has made significant progress in the field of new energy vehicles. It has established an electric vehicle power system technology platform and vehicle integration technology with independent intellectual property rights, and has developed a series of large-scale application products. The overall level is in the forefront of the world.

While promoting the progress of electric vehicle research and development, China is also actively promoting the strategy of "talents, patents and standards", striving to gain the right to speak in the future competition. In the implementation of the science and technology plan alone, 2881 patents have been applied for, including 1635 special inventions and 42 national and industry standards for electric vehicles. However, in terms of new energy technology, China and foreign countries are not yet on the same starting line. In terms of key components such as automotive lithium batteries, drive motors, and power control systems, there is still a big gap between China and developed countries.
